Double Take: Dupli-Color Restores an El Camino—Sort Of?!?!

With apologies to Dupli-Color, its latest project vehicle is quite half-baked.

Actually, the paint pros at Dupli-Color are the first to admit it, and in fact, they’re quite proud of the results. That’s because they purposely completed only half of the project, a 1979 El Camino, to prove a point. The run-down Elky was restored and painted on only one side to prove that you can transform the entire look and personality of your vehicle using only Dupli-Color products.

The project was also created to showcase the impressive breadth of Dupli-Color paints and coatings, including basecoat/clearcoat paints, engine enamels, brake caliper paint, wheel paint, truck bed coating, and more. While there’s no denying that Dupli-Color products made an incredible difference—the car itself is real-life “before and after” proof—you may be wondering just how easy it was to get results. We’re glad you asked.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll share video of the restoration process, courtesy of Dupli-Color. For now, check out photos of the Dupli-Color El Camino at the Summit Racing Retail Store in Ohio.
